Luxury Scents: Caron Poivre

The famous French perfume house, Caron, was founded in 1904 by Ernest Daltroff. But despite its old origins, the company has never branched out into other products. They’re still exclusively dedicated to creating beautiful perfumes. His partner and muse, milliner Félicie Wanpouille, created the bottles while Daltroff designed the fragrances. This particular bottle, Caron Poivre, was released in 1954. It has a spicy amber fragrance and a unique teardrop bottle shape. The perfume’s top scents are pepper and clove, the middle notes have floral flavors and the base notes are woodsy. Some buyers believe that the spiciness of the perfume actually makes it suitable for all genders. But if you wanted to buy a bottle, you would need to shell out a thousand dollars per ounce.
